1/4 cup of soy sauce
2 tsp of sesame oil
1/4 kilo of pork (or beef or chicken), sliced into 1 inch strips
1 onion, chopped
4-5 tbsp of crushed garlic
a piece of ginger, cut into strips
broccoli florets (stems also included and cut into strips)
red bell pepper, cut into strips
1 tbsp. cornstarch
salt and pepper
Combine 5 tbsp of soy sauce and sesame oil in a bowl. Add the pork strips to coat and marinate for 30 minutes or more.
In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup of water with a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper, cornstarch and the remaining soy sauce. Mix well and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan over medium to high heat. Throw in the pork strips and stir-fry for about 3 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside. Add little oil to the pan and heat again. Stir-fry garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add in the onion and stir-fry for a minute. Pour 1/2 cup of water and bring to boil. Add in the broccoli and red bell pepper and continue stir-frying for about 2 minutes or until tender crisp. Return the cooked pork plus the reserved marinade mixture to the pan. Mix thoroughly and stir-fry for about 30 seconds or until the sauce thickens. Enjoy!
